Sailing from Rockport TX to Gulfport MS...almost there!

Day Four of our Gulf of America sailing adventure!

What a difference a day makes! I awoke to find we were sailing on calm waters with light wind. It was a breezy, sunny, beautiful day! Yesterday I wanted nothing less than to be able to stop the boat, at port or anchor, and take a break from the incessant jostling. But this was just as good.

Chris said he was fine at the helm for a bit longer, so I cleaned the aft cabin and head, picking up all the soggy clothes from the floor, stripping off the wet bedding and turning on all our fans. Armed with a spray bottle of Fantastic and all the rags I could find, I wiped down the bedroom shelves, all the bathroom surfaces and the floors. I hung jackets and shoes up to dry and put things that had fallen from their storage spots back into their respective places.

I made breakfast, our first hot meal since we left Rockport. By this time, the wind had all but died and we were back to motoring. I grabbed my coffee and took the helm so Chris could finally get some much-needed rest. No dolphins today, just lots of oil platforms and pelicans.

The day passed quietly and was just the halfway point refresh we needed. We still had two more overnights to go.
